This picture hardly does the charm of Tutto Italiano’s boxcar seating justice. This was my chosen destination for Valentine’s day this year. The restaurant was quiet and to be frank a little dead. Being in the heart of the financial district, I suspect most of its costumers consist of business lunch goers. Despite the deadness of the place, the food speaks of a restaurant that deserves to be bustling every moment of every day. With authentic italian dishes, pasta cooked to perfection, and a balance of flavors I haven’t tasted since being in Italy this has become my new favorite haunt. The portions are ginormous and I always have to take home half. I definitely plan on going back
mmm…toe curlingly good Italian.
Ruffino Libaio Chardonnay 2002-$24

Simple and tasty. Don’t expect fireworks in your mouth, but this serves as a great pairing to any cream based pasta, chicken or fish dish. This is an unoaked Chardonnay with a little touch of pinot grigio making an incredibly drinkable combination. With a fruity floral nose, a light citrus clean finish, and a hint of nuttiness and salt, I would not hesitate to serve this for a dinner party or just ‘cuz.
